May Fall - Sleep

Indie/synth pop multitalented musician and producer May Fall has always been an expert soundscaper. Departing from his rock and heavy metal roots, May Fall debuted in his synthesizer driven venture with his 2016’s EP, spawning singles “Blind Zone” and “Same Code” who enjoyed heavy rotation in hundreds of radio stations (and TV channels with their respective music videos) throughout the world.

Fast forward to 2024, after a period which saw the release of his jazz fusion trio’s (The May Fall Crew) acclaimed debut album, May Fall returns with his new EP "Submerge", superbly mixed by Multi-Platinum producer Yoad Nevo (Sia, Ed Sheeran, Moby, Pet Shop Boys). ‘Sleep’ is the mesmerizing centerpiece of this genre-defying EP. Though most writers don’t stop to wonder about something as mundane as sleep, May Fall is fascinated by it, drawn to the infinite depths of subconsciousness.

As is true about many of his thoughtful songs, ‘Sleep’ is the product of an intellectual inquiry — a candid look at sleep as introspection and as escape. Musically, May Fall matched his reflections to heart-syncopating beats that carry ethereal harmonies toward a cathartic chorus, an epic anthem that keeps resonating long after the song has ended. While sounding as delicious as an indie pop hit, this is cerebral music that will surely captivate casual listeners as well as seasoned musicophiles. ‘Sleep’ demonstrates May Fall’s unerring ability to make psychological topics feel as intoxicating as modern pop music.
