The Austrian Grind-Machine MASTIC SCUM strikes back with a new output entiteled "DEFY". In collaboration with the Grindheads HEAD CLEANER from Greece a Split 7" EP with new tracks from both bands will be released via Screaming Victims Records. MASTIC SCUM just announced a new Line-Up with Wolfgang Rothbauer (Thirdmoon, In Slumber, GodHateCode) in spring 2017 and entered Grindlab Studio in summer to record three brand new songs for this release. On "DEFY", the band continues their unique style, combining Death Metal with Grindcore, spiked with industrial samples. Like on their last album "CTRL" the new tracks guarantee a high technical level and a modern and powerful sound production. Remarkable guitar-riffs, massive grooves turning into brutal blastbeats and intense, aggressive vocals define the soundwall of MASTIC SCUM. The 3 tracks of EP "DEFY" were mixed and mastered by Mike Kronstorfer at Metalforge Studio, the artwork was done by Headsplit Design.
The Greek Grinders HEAD CLEANER already raised their name in the underground scene with several high quality releases. Formed in 2002 the band plays intense Grindcore with elements of Death Metal and Crustcore. Their lyrics are highly reflective of the recent situation in Greece. Anti-establishment, anti-corporatism, anti-imperialism, and anti-origarchical themes frequently reoccur throughout Head Cleaner's body of work. HEAD CLEANER recorded also 3 new tracks for this release, gut ripping guitar, crushingly heavy distorted bass, pummeling drums precisely played, overlaid by powerful throaty growls and midrange screams. „Real Life Disconnection“ was mixed by Simos Lazaridis. mastered by George Bokos at Grindhouse Studio Athens and artwork was designed by Jim Evgenidis.
