Aria - Find That Man

Aria, real name Mariano Schiavolini, is a music composer from Ventimiglia, Italy. A key figure in the Italian progressive rock scene and founding member of the famous Celeste (aka The King Crimson of Italy), Aria has honed his art in the most experimental genres, also collaborating with countless artists and producers of his time. The concept and pseudonym came about as a homage to the elements of nature that inspire us to live and create in harmony with our surroundings. Once one has lost contact with nature, one is no longer oneself. This connection, this bond, is what drives Aria to create masterpieces that often draw deep inspiration from the natural world.

Aria presents the songs ”Blind Eyes” and ”Find That Man,” two songs with classic world music influences, on which Aria worked in collaboration with Peter Gabriel from the Real Word studio in Bath, England. The first song, ”Blind Eyes,” is a pop song with a more classical, vintage, close to soulful melodic line, compared to ”Find That Man,” which is the more jazzy of the two tracks, but also engaging and easy to listen to. The tracks were interpreted by New York jazz vocalist Joanna Teters aka Velvet Belle, well known in American jazz circles, and in Italy for having sung in Umbria Jazz, who with her particular vocal timbre is somewhat reminiscent of some voices of the past such as Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and Nina Simone.
