“Voices” delves into the haunting struggle of someone not being
able to move on from a past love.
With a haunting melody and expressive lyrics, the song captures
the sense of helplessness and recklessness as they battle with
memories they just can’t escape.
Highway 95 is an acoustic/rock country music duo, based in
Karratha, Western Australia, performing at events and local
venues across the Pilbara Region.
The duo formed in January 2023, featuring Bob Derschow (a
traditional owner in the Pilbara Region) on guitar and Nicole
Bylund on vocals. Both have many years of experience performing
in multiple bands over the last 20-30 years. They share a passion
for writing and performing original country music.
Highway 95’s unique brand of entertainment fuses modern
country music vibes with a strong vocal and guitar presence. The
emotion in their music shines through with every performance,
captivating audiences, and allowing listeners to connect emotionally with each song. They have publicly released several
original songs and are set to release more in 2024.
Highway 95 recently released their first CD, featuring 11 original
tracks, called “Ain’t Givin’ Up on You”, with the album be released
at the end of the year on streaming services.
Nominated as finalists in the Australian Country Music People’s
Choice awards, in the category of Best Band / Duo, Highway 95
headed to Tamworth (Australia’s country music capital) in January
2024. This gave us the amazing opportunity perform and
participate in the Tamworth Country Music Festival and meet
other industry artists.
Bob Derschow was selected as a finalist in the 2024 APRA
Professional Development Awards.
Their fantastic song “Save Me” was named amongst the semifinalists in the Alt-Country category of the Tamworth Songwriters
Association Awards for 2024.
