Bobby Valentine - Three Minutes From Famous

Bobby has been a professional entertainer for over 30 years, based in Melbourne and appearing both nationally and internationally in a range of genres from solo performances to fronting twenty-piece big bands. Bobby has headlined many corporate and private functions. Some of the highlights have been performing at the weddings of Hugh Jackman, Eddie MacGuire and Annie Peacock as well as significant birthday parties for Sam Newman, Jimmy Barnes and Jill Farnham.

In Australia, Bobby has performed at the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, the AFL Grand Final and the Australian Tennis Open. He is also the voice of the team song of Melbourne Storm (NRL). Internationally, he has starred at three Australia Day Celebrations in the Middle East, the opening of the Singapore St.Regis Hotel, was the headline performer at a 50th birthday on a private five day super yacht tour of the Mediterranean and has performed in China, Asia, USA and Paris.

Bobby was also the Chairman’s preferred entertainment at Crown Casino where he opened for Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Jerry Lewis (twice – second time requested by Jerry). Bobby has recently toured with Wendy Stapleton in the Shakespeare Company’s production of The Bacharach Songbook and the indie show Keep the Circle Unbroken. He has appeared on almost every Australian TV variety show beginning with Ray Martin’s Midday Show in the late 80’s followed by regular performances on Hey, Hey It’s Saturday, The Bert Newton Show, I.M.T. & Steve Vizard’s Tonight Live.

Bobby’s voice has been heard selling everything from Holdens to the Labor party on television and radio, the most memorable being his voice singing “There’s no other store like David Jones” for 8 years! His CD releases include two big band albums, a blues album and an album with Rhonda Burchmore. More recently Bobby won a songwriting competition in Honolulu, followed by a third place at the Kauai Music Festival and a trip to Nashville.

This has led his career in an exciting new direction as a singer/songwriter. He has released an all original country album and has another in the works. While Bobby continues to work in a variety of genres, he highly values working with the Band of Renown delivering country originals and country hits - all the old favourites so the audience can still “Twist the night away!”
