Monique Sherrell Brown is a two-time award winning multi-genre singer/producer out of Queens, NY. Her latest single "When I Say" is officially nominated for a 2022 Josie Award in the Song of the Year/Individual Songwriter Project category and also made it to the 2021 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) Semi-Finals.
In 2012, Brown started her musical journey when her then journalist colleague, Magee Hickey, introduced her to the cabaret scene. This landed her performances at venues such as Don't Tell Mama, Broadway Comedy Club & The Laurie Beechman Theatre. From that world, she then moved to back-up vocals briefly in a short-lived country/blues band and ultimately went in the direction of solo artist.
Her singles “Wishing You The Best” & "In & Out Of Love (featuring Carol Johnson)" were picked up by Bongo Boy Records and earned her two LDM Music Awards. She is currently producing her first full length album featuring both originals and familiar covers. Stay tuned of Brown's future collaborations with fellow Bluesman.
