Adrenaline and storytelling collide in Country/Rockabilly artist Owen Smith. Born in Tamworth and
raised in the Snowy Mountains, Owen is a Singer-Songwriter with a love for the Australian bush and a
passion for crafting distinctively Australian experiences into song.
Owen is a prolific songwriter who performs his original music across the regions in festivals, charity
events, competitions, gigs and street performances. He has written with award-winning songwriters
such as Carter & Carter, Lyn Bowtell, Lachlan Bryan, Kaitlyn Thomas and Allan Caswell.
Owen is
deeply involved in the Australian songwriting community where he is an active member of the
Tamworth Songwriters Association and the Australian Bush Balladeers Association.
In 2023, Owen was a finalist for ASA Australian Song of the Year, CCMA New Songwriter of the Year
and placed in the Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards and is a Grand Finalist for the Australian
National Busking Championships. He has performed at multiple festivals, including the Tamworth
Country Music Festival where he was chosen as a top pick in The Northern Daily Leader’s guide.
Already in 2024, Owen graduated from the CMAA Senior Academy, performed in the Opening
Concert of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, reached the Grand Final of the Tamworth
Songwriters Association Awards and released his debut EP, The Snowies. Produced by industry
veteran Simon Johnson, The Snowies traces the beauty of life growing up in the Snowy Mountains
