13 59 Beats is Sean Russell, a Jamaican born resident in Barbados. His foray in music began when he composed the musical score for the self-produced feature award winning film 'The Kite Flyer' which was a hit at the 2007 Bridgetown Film Festival. His journey continued in the music world as he ventured into many genres of music true to his culture as a Caribbean man,The Caribbean being a multicultural melting pot where European, African, and Indian cultures intersect and intertwine.
To date, 13 59 Beats has released three albums: Genesis, The Sequel, and Triad-all available on the popular music apps including iTunes and Spotify. The tracks are instrumental, and some have received very positive critical reviews and over 30 000 plays on Radio Airplay. 13 59 Beats’ present venture is adding vocals to the music to complement it with arguably the ultimate musical instrument -the human voice. ”Break My Guard Down” is the debut vocal track by 13 59 Beats.
