Lucy St. Lafayette’s “America Make Love Again” delves into
the emotional toll that deeply held ideological differences can
take on personal relationships.
Inspired by her own experiences in divisive modern
relationships, Lucy imagined how love itself might become as
polarised as the current American cultural political divide.
With evocative lyrics and a raw, stripped-down performance,
Lucy explores the intersection of love, loss, and politics,
offering a personal yet widely relatable mediation on
difference.
Hailing from Cathedral City, California, Lucy started playing
the spoons in her family's band, The St. Lafayette Bluegrass
Implosion at five years old, and moved on to the banjo at the
age of seven. By fifteen, she assumed the roles of lead singer,
producer and its major creative force.
In early 2024, Lucy embarked on a solo career, creating music
that blends Americana with her unique ‘folkcore’ style - a
fusion of country, rock, and raw storytelling. Lucy’s heartfelt
performances and vivid lyrics reflect her commitment to
capturing both the intimate and the universal, making her a
distinctive voice in in contemporary music.
