Simonne Draper is an acoustic-classical composer and guitarist, a member of the
Czech Composers Society, and a voting member of The Recording Academy™ for
the Grammy Awards®. After dedicating a significant part of her life to studying law,
she made a decisive turn to pursue her true passion - classical and orchestral
music composition. She is classically trained in Spanish guitar, started learning to
play the guitar at an early age, and later studied with the renowned classical guitar
composer Milan TesaÅ™ at the Conservatoire in Prague.
In 2016, she became a
member of the Czech Composers Society. During her music studies at the
conservatoire, Simonne used to perform in collaboration with other guitarists in
Prague churches and local concert halls. In 2019, her debut album, "Portraits In
Guitar," was released under the record label MSR Classics in the USA. The album
received positive acclaim from publications such as Fanfare, American Record
Guide, or Concertonet, among others, and gained airplay on hundreds of radio
stations across the globe, including BBC Radio Kent, Radio Six International, or
Classic Praha FM. Music from that album has also been featured on various
established radio shows such as the "Mike Rogers Show" or on "Lively Lounge
with Tony Currie", among others.
As an active classical guitar player, she also
collaborates with award-winning various artists who present her music at concert
venues and festivals. She enjoys exploring different genres and recently
collaborated with acclaimed British musician Jon Kennedy, who remixed her
composition "Eclipse" in a chillout and downtempo style. This remix was
submitted in the 66th Grammy Awards® under the category Best Remixed
Recording, while her track "Fairytale" was submitted for the 67th Grammy
Awards®.
"Eclipse" later appeared on a compilation album titled "66th FYC
Album", featuring various artists and published by Bongo Boy Records. She
continues to collaborate with Bongo Boy Records on her new music. The
compilation albums titled "Escape the Mind" and "Volume XXIII" were released in
May 2024. Her new solo album, titled "Silence of Eclipse," was released in June
2024. Future collaborations will include albums titled "Volume XXIV" and "Holiday
Season: Winter Collection", featuring her first Christmas composition titled
"Finesca".
